This is simply told as a story behind the picture.
1998 I first started coming up with ‘origional’ ideas or visions, striving to push the limits of imagination at the time. A side effect of this effort was that a dream diary kept at the time kept describing things that would happen afterwards. The same day; dream images would be similar to photos in that days newspaper, which may just have been looking for similarities and so then finding them, (which may be ‘off-leash’ training the mind to think that way) or a small number of random and un-regular incidents in actual daily life would take place, which were actually specific and beyond coincidence, or within a 2 week time frame; news events would mirror dreams that had already been noted previously.. Events such as the Southall train crash, the Omagh car bomb, and a case of a murder victim found wrapped in carpet in an attic, (details of unusual injuries were only alluded to in the media, but suggested a match to a dream.) Pre-, and post-apocalyptic visions were also a common dream theme at this time.(I expect these are common).. [These things just a case of getting into a habit. ; of accessing a data stream from where time is all one point rather than experienced linear.?] The sought for ‘new’ ideas did materialise in strange pencil drawings and after a while this settled down and the dream diary got forgotten. 10 years later I was inspired to design something that was more than the sum of its charcoal ‘marks on paper’, something larger and more ambitious than I’d done before, and from which to grow from.. With 20 A3 pages fixed to the wall the design began coming together, and the unusual designs done 10 years previously fitted like pieces of a puzzle when replicated within this design.. There was a feeling of being drained and foggy-headed while making this, with colds and headaches common, and with 1 instance I remember of a feeling of being followed while walking alone.. When it was completed, being before it felt like standing near a pylon, and its ‘manifestation’ led my work to where it is now. This is simply told as a story behind the picture.
?...Would be curious to hear if anything unusual is felt, or experienced while, or after, looking at this image, or if things that have been wanted or desired actualize afterwards… ?
